Ebook of 36 New York Yankees You Should Know

by Bill Rico
(Granville,, OH)

A New Yankee 'History' EBook

A New Yankee 'History' EBook

This book contains biography and statistics of 36 New York Yankees. some New York Yankee Superstars, some New York Yankee Stars, some New York Yankee Hall of Famers, some important New York Yankees of their day, and some New York Yankee role players who turned out to be World Series Heroes.

You may know a bit about some of these players, you have heard the name of some of the other players, but it’s nearly impossible to know all of them.

The book contains the only Yankee who has a retired number in Monument Park in Yankee Stadium but hasn’t had a Yankeeography done about him on the YES Network to date.

The book's first subject is Jack Chesbro who is a Hall of Famer. “Happy Jack” one of the oldest records in Major League History, and was the first Yankee Pitching Superstar back when the Yankees were known as The New York Highlanders. Chesbro was involved in the first Yankee - Red Sox pennant deciding game.

It contains players who had untimely deaths such as an appendectomy at 36 during the season that ended his life and a 39 year old Yankee that lost his life when a drawbridge failed to close and the train he was on drove off into water killing him and about 50 others.

Do you know about the player who might be in the Hall of Fame except for his attitude. The book contains the early Yankee star relief pitchers, many 1927 Yankees (who many consider them the best team of All-Time), two great Yankees who are Canadian and in the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame, the Yankee who collected the most World Series checks (6 more than Yogi Berra), and the Yankee who broke Carl Hubbell’s string of fanning five straight Hall of Famers in the 1934 World Series. Who was he and what did he do against Hubbell?

Not all the stories are positive. One Yankee was banned for life for gambling and may have helped fix the 1919 World Series. Another was an anti-semite who gave Nazi salutes from the outfield after he was traded to the Washington Senators and was instrumental in making life miserable for Jackie Robinson when he managed in the National League.

And...
so much more.
